He's not rhyming as much, I get it, but I sort of get why, too: he's engaging and entertaining as a vocalist/singer. The production and arrangements are straight up great (haven't looked at credits yet). it almost reminds me a bit of that Topaz Jones record from last year in that respect, it's a nice mix of styles that ebb and flow in their proximity to beats+rhymes hip hop. It's pretty clearly not trying to be a straight hip hop album. I'll often hear something from him that makes me go, "Oh, I need to listen more" - but just never follow up. I've mostly heard him off features and casual listens to one or two of his albums. In what way is my lack of enjoyment for this project a sign of poor decision making on my part?Ĩ. The trio of EPs that he packaged as Trilogy had some cool tracks, but KRIT Iz Here was just blah. It got me really excited about KRIT again.

I had given up on KRIT after his first few albums weren't living up to the quality of his mixtapes, but a song from 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time popped up on Spotify and I was digging it so I went and checked the full album and loved it. "RE: Big Krit - Digital Roses Don't Die"ĭamn, this is super disappointing to hear. Maybe I'll change my mind on subsequent listens though.ġ. I kind wish he could have held off for a while and just came with something really good, even if it would have been years later. 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time came out in 2017. This guy should be TOP TOP tier but it seems he's been relegated to just another rapper with his last few joints. His last few project have been lacking IMO: Krit Is Here, A Style Not Quite Free, a few eps here and there. It kinda made me mad because Krit is such a dope rapper and there is so much NOT rapping on it.like why? Is his label situation bad or something? Is someone making him make corny music?
